As promised, here is another gnome NPC, along with role-playing tips and hints at how to use him in your campaign. Muttchops Welber (MUTT-chops well-BURR) "Nothing says more about you than the hair on your head and the whiskers on your chin." Muttchops (N) is a worldly, 201-year-old, male forest gnome who prides himself on the elegantly extravagant hair and beard styles he creates for his clients. Eminently concerned with appearances, he constantly re-imagines his own thick locks and sweeping beard into works of art. He routinely uses illusionary magic to accentuate both; his favorite trick is to make his beard twinkle like a star-filled night sky. He operates a shop called Hair Affair out of his home burrow but also frequents carnivals, festivals, fairs, and other gatherings in a princely, mobile salon. These excursions help him keep

I struck on the idea of creating NPCs for my blog mostly as a means to let these personalities stretch their legs a little and perhaps entertain a few of you.As I release NPCs, I'll be following a general format for each one. First, there is a general description, including a portrait and stat blocks. Following that is a set of roleplaying hints, ideas for involving the NPC as a recurring character, and then some ideas for building one-shot adventures, story arcs, and side quests using the NPC.  In some posts, there might be some additional information related to the NPC. This will usually be additional reference material that I've collected from previous versions of Dungeons and Dragons . For example, the NPC I've created for this blog is an arcane gnome, and so I've included some information about arcane gnomes after the NPC description. Also, as promised, I'm including a new gadget (following the rules in my very own Epic Gnomish Invention DMsGuild supplement
