Skyfell Geography: Doraku

Image
Skyfell Geography: Doraku I’ve been blogging sessions for the Dungeons and Dragons campaign I’m running in my homebrew setting “ Skyfell .” I started blogging more about its geography to provide context to my players and to make clear the gaps in the setting so that they could explore and add to it. The first blog I posted was for Akima Prime . This installment is about Doraku. Please enjoy. Doraku Overview Doraku, the smallest of the Skyfell continents, spans only 300 miles from end to end. It is the traditional homeland of the kenku. It is also a refuge for those who did not or could not fit into Skyfell’s mainstream society. While its cities are nowhere near as grand as others in the Known Skies, they are far more diverse and more open to that diversity. This tolerance is supported by a shared identity of being outcasts from a society that didn’t have room for them.  Geography Mount Doraku , near the center top-side of the continent, dominates the landsca...

Skyfell Geography: Akima Prime

Skyfell Locations: Akima Prime I’ve posted a handful of blogs regarding my homebrew campaign setting I call Skyfell. The first was a general description that I wrote up for new players so that they could get a taste for its mood and general feel. I’ve also been blogging about a campaign I’m currently running in that setting. It is very much a work in progress. I wanted to share a little more about the geography in part to provide some more background for my players to latch onto but also to make more clear the gaps in the setting so that any of my players can explore and add to it. To that end, I present the Skyfell map, something everyone who has been following me should now be familiar with. This installment is about Akima Prime. I hope you enjoy it. Akima Prime Overview Akima Prime is the largest of the Skyfell continents, stretching nearly 3000 miles from its northernmost point to its southernmost.  Every race except the feral gnomes and firbolgs can be found ...

Favorite Games: The Art of Chill

I spend a lot of time on my blog talking about and providing content for Dungeons and Dragons . I do actually play other games though. So I thought it was time to post about a few of the ones I play the most often and maybe get others to give them a try! I’m going to start with my favorite.  The Art of Chill Bob Ross - The Art of Chill Bob Ross  was a painter and host of an art-instruction program called The Joy of Painting (1983 to 1994) that originally aired on PBS . In each half-hour episode, Bob completed a painting all the while providing instructions, tips, and life advice in a soft, friendly voice. Watching an episode is like slipping into a meditative state where a “charming cabin” lazes about with “happy little trees” beneath “fluffy clouds.” A state where, “There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.” The Man, The Myth, The Legend Since his death, Bob, his work, and his quotes have experienced a resurgence of pop culture popularity.
