Skyfell Campaign: Session 20

Image
Skyfell Introduction I started a once-per-month  Dungeons and Dragons  game in my  Skyfell campaign setting . I wanted to provide my players with a log of their adventures and then realized that such a log might make for fun blog posts. See the  Session Index  for a complete listing. The cast is: Rodney - Tauffae Twofeather Topshelf - orc, Fighter (Champion) Dan - Drekzhar - minotaur, Bard/Rogue (College of Swords, Swashbuckler) Laura - Meribore Softwalker - firbolg, Druid (Circle of the Moon) Michelle - Bronte Whitewinter - firbolg, Cleric (Tempest Domain) Jeff - Omagoshno - rock gnome, Artificer (Artillerist) Session 20 - Not Clockworks of Carnage Preparation W   E   ’   R   E         B   A   C   K   ! 5e Conversion: Fallout Chems

Image
5e Conversion: Fallout Chems My obsession with the Appalachia wasteland continues unabated. So, of course, I must provide another conversion for Fallout into the  Dungeons and Dragons  setting (in contrast to creating a Fallout game using the 5e ruleset ). I figured I'd take a look at some of the chems this time.  In the Fallout setting, chems are a set of consumable items you use to heal yourself and to temporarily boost your character's stats. Think of them like potions. Unlike potions, however, each one has side effects and each one has a chance for your character to become addicted to it. The addiction itself causes its own side affects that can be temporarily relieved by taking another dose of the chem. The addiction can also be cured, thankfully, with a shot of something called Addictol. For a faithful conversion, I feel like there are two ways to go. The most obvious would be to treat the chems as potions. Generally, magical potions don't have any addiction ...

5e Avatar : Badgermole

Image
5e Avatar : Badgermole I've just started listening to the audiobook The Rise of Kyoshi and that's inspired me to create more Dungeons and Dragons adaptations of the various fauna from Avatar: The Last Airbender . Today's installment is the badgermole: Badgermoles Source: The Legend of Korra The following is the stat block for the badgermole. Check out the  Avatar fandom wiki  for a description of this creature. Stay tuned for more  Dungeons and Dragons  5e conversions of your favorite Avatar creatures. Drop me a note if you have one in particular that you'd like to see. In the meantime, see the  5e Avatar Index  for a complete list of creatures. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow me on one of these fine social media platforms: Instagram : @hokumsean Spotify : @hokumsean Twitch : @hokumsean Twitter : @hokumsean Tumblr  @hokumsean Stop by my YouTube channel " Ovens and Dragons " and...

5e Conversion: Fallout Death Tambo

Image
5e Conversion: Fallout Death Tambo If you've been following me on Instagram (see below), you know that I have an addiction to Fallout in general and to Fallout 76 specifically. If you've been reading this blog, you know that I like mash-ups, converting characters, items, and concepts from other intellectual properties and franchises into 5th Edition  Dungeons and Dragon s characters, items, and concepts. I've been having fun with the Avatar fauna conversions . I've even done a Grinch conversion . I'm not sure why it took me this long to figure out I could do some conversions from Fallout as well. As a very cool sidebar, someone did do a 5e ruleset for Fallout called Fifth Edition Fallout . I even did a couple of actual-play live streams with Scorched Dice where I played a slightly neurotic Mr. Handy. The game is quite fun. You most definitely must give it a try. But I digress. My point is that I am now going to be doing a few conversions for Fallout into Dun...

Skyfell Geography: Burati

Image
Skyfell Geography: Burati I’ve been  blogging the sessions for my Dungeons and Dragons homebrew campaign that I call Skyfell. I've also written a lot of background information for the setting. There is a brief description that provides a taste of the setting's general ideas and mood. I wrote up this for new players to the campaign. There are posts providing social, cultural, geographic, and political information for the various continents in the setting, including Akima Prime , > Doraku , Piruna Fields , and Teskos . Two more posts ( Guilds of Highwater and Organizations of Highwater ) go into more detail about the city of Highwater on Doraku. This installment is about the continent of Burati. I hope you enjoy it. Burati Major and Burati Minor   Overview Burati is a binary continent south of Doraku in the Trina Skies. It's largest landform, Burati Major, is littered with the remnants of a pre-Cataclysm civilization known as the Burati Authorit...
