Long Tough Fight : A Bard Song of Rest


This blog is mostly about my homebrew Dungeons and Dragons campaign called Skyfell, but it's also a place where I can exercise my creative needs. I guess this post falls into the latter.

I am fortunate enough to be a player in another Dungeons and Dragons campaign where I started playing a satyr School of Eloquence bard named Leneus The Bruce. His bardic magic comes from a blend of stand-up comedy, social criticism, and satire. There's also a touch of Tiny Tim in there for his limited musical repertoire. If you're reading this, you probably already know that bards have an ability called Song of Rest that helps to recover hit points during a short rest. I absolutely felt a need to write the Song of Rest that Lenny would perform. What follows is that song, based on The Beatles A Hard Days Night, sung in Tiny Tim's silky falsetto.

This really is just me appeasing my ego, so take it or leave it. Also, if you do like it, and you play a bard, feel free to borrow it for your very own entertainment purposes.


A Long Tough Fight

We adventure all day
Through the muck and nasty grime.
By the end of it we all say
We could use some snuggle time.

In Session 12 of my Dungeons and Dragons home-brew campaign Skyfell the player characters acquired an airship. I've already written up quite a few rules regarding airships and the nature of air travel in Skyfell (see my Airships post ). That was good enough to explain a bit about ships for earlier sessions.   5e Conversion: Fallout's Nuka-Cola As there appears to be no end to my obsession with the Appalachia wasteland, I of course, must provide another conversion for  Fallout 76  into the  Dungeons and Dragons  setting. This time around, I want to tackle that most refreshing of novelty beverages, Nuka-Cola.  In case you don't know, the  Fallout  setting has a ubiquitous soda called Nuka-Cola that comes in convenient, rocket-shaped bottles. The standard variety is simply a refreshing way to hydrate and restore yourself while out and about braving the dangers of the wasteland. There are, however, several other specialty flavors that provide a wide range of other benefits.
